‘Pssst!’ she said, ‘Here’s something yuuurmmy to think about… there’s no such thing as failure in creativity… no such thing as ‘bad’ or ‘wrong’. Something that you have created never existed before… it may be messy, frivolous, silly, funny or even a little weird …but it can’t ever, ever be wrong’.  

‘Mmmmm….’ I mumbled, ‘but look at the lovely things that other people have made… mine can’t compare’. 

She laughed gently, but she also seemed surprised. 

‘How you can you possibly compare your masterpiece to someone else’s?’ she asked, ‘It’s not the expression of THEIR heart… it’s YOUR heart’s unique imprint on the world. And for that reason alone, for the courage and honesty and surrender that it takes, it is a magnificent thing.’
