Intuitive Soul Painting Workshop ---

It's time to start.

First you relax.  Just r e l a x ... Your eyes close, you sink back in your chair and sim...

Dancing our way to Power Painting our Dreams

Posted by Michelle Jacobs on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, In : Power Painting
Our dreams start off in the air around our heads and hearts as wispy little white puffs like clouds that disappear when you look straight at them.  We know they’re there, but they are undefined… just a yearning, really… for something… we’re not always quite sure what.

Then we think about them, flitting about in the air like mulit-coloured butterflies… powdery yellows, red and blues start to tint them slightly…oranges, golds and purples embolden them... feint shapes may appear…...

Posted by Michelle Jacobs on Thursday, December 22, 2011, In : Creative Soul Food
So, with 2012 knocking on the door, the Creativity Gym Xmas elves & fairies are hard at work!  We're putting together exciting, meaningful creative treats for you to enjoy this coming year, and will be introducing a new team member to you too.

I have long believed that to lead a creative life, I need to be... awake!  And so leading my creative life has meant finding out what it takes to stay alert, conscious...not falling asleep.  And I don't mean literally, I mean in those every day ways th...

What do Chakras have to do with Creativity?

Posted by Michelle Jacobs on Monday, September 19, 2011, In : Chakra Painting
Aside from our 2nd chakra being our centre for creative energy, everything about chakras spells creativity for me.  They each have a frequency, an associated colour and each represent several types of energy that in turn relate to our characteristics, feelings and even personalities!  Each one can be optimised and kept healthy, balanced and radiant.  This in turn creates a beautiful ability to develop who we are through movement, art forms, self expression and reflective processes like medita...

Why Intuitive Expression need not only be through Painting...Drawing, Dance, Movement, Journaling, Writing, LIVING and more can all be intuitive!

Posted by Michelle Jacobs on Monday, June 13, 2011,
So I guess this is the point of why I started Creativity Gym and what I know keeps me going: my life is one big expression of my spirit...and who else will know how that needs to look except me - from my inside out?!  So, it needs to be an untuitive, self-lead journey, and with that idea in mind, I set out to explore my inner and outer world ...creatively.

I am continuously amazed at where the adventure leads, when I give myself more and more permission to express my fullest self, my most se...

The Power of Intuitive Art Workshops with Creativity Gym

Posted by Michelle Jacobs on Tuesday, June 7, 2011,
I am realising that the power of developing our intuition reaps rewards at every level.  We all long for success in our personal and professional lives, and the practice of intuitive art is showing me how we're able to transform under performing areas into creative oases that flow and grow.  What's outstanding to me is that the process of creating these changes has been enjoyable, meaningful, fulfilling and relatively effortless.  The energy I used to spend on other more traditional technique...

December News 2010

Posted by Michelle Jacobs on Wednesday, December 15, 2010,
Well, it feels like I'm ripe and ready for a new post.  Much has been happening in my studio and my life, and here's where I have an opportunity to share it with you!

The last weekend of studio classes and workshops was brilliant.  We started with Visual Art Journaling, slipped in a little Soul Painting, and ended with a moving Chakra Painting experience.  I absolutely loved every minute of it.

The feedback every time I give a session is remarkable.  I am always moved by how people are transf...

Creativity & New Business Development

Posted by Michelle Jacobs on Friday, October 29, 2010,
I have long thought that improved creativity can lead to more powerful results when developing business strategy, new sales and building companies.  The deeper I delve into both, the more clarity I have on why this is the case.  Essentially, you need the same core foundation, or inner perspective, in order to be successful at both.  There's a myth that "Right Brain", creativity, interpersonal work and the like are all in the domain of "soft skills".  If that's true, why do the vast majority i...

Intuitive Soul Art journaling

Posted by Michelle Jacobs on Thursday, July 29, 2010, In : Visual Art & Soul Journalling
Isn't time to go beyond words? I for one love love love Julia Cameron's work, and was part of a group we called "The Rivonia Circle" several years ago who did the "Artist's Way" course together. Really great stuff. However, years on, I am not seeing anything to take us all further! What's the next step?

Again, plenty online and overseas when we google, but we want something home grown for locals. Introducing Visual Art Journaling and Soul Pages! Classes and workshops will draw on a wealth of r...

The power of photos

Posted by Michelle Jacobs on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, In : Photography and Your Art
Photographing your art serves so many purposes.

Of course it's a way to share it with art friends (who understand it's not always that easy!) - to keep it as a record for yourself personally, and to start a portfolio. Having a portfolio allows you to browse back over your creations over time, and recognise the progress you make. After all, just making art in the first place is progress, as many of us know! Yet so many people really never acknowledge themselves when they do.

We believe it also ...

Why I am so loving it...

Posted by Michelle Jacobs on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, In : Power Painting
Power Painting...I am so drawn to this form of expression right now. Maybe it's because it's so contained - I know that it's not difficult to complete a small box canvas. Perhaps it's because I love box canvas - they can be hung immediately on your wall, with a simple nail or two, no frame required. Well, these are good reasons for sure, because they make this kind of art less daunting and harder to find reasons to procrastinate over.

Mostly though, the reason is the awesome time it gives me ...

A place to call home

Posted by Michelle Jacobs on Sunday, July 11, 2010, In : Art Studio
Well, the Creativity Gym Studio has been painted!  It's new look hopefully transforms it from an ordinary space to something between a white cube and a paint party venue.  A place for fellow Soul Painters and Intuitive Creatives to call home.  We will be opening our studio on the 25 July and holding classes from the 27 July 2010. Woohooo!

We are planning a soft launch after our initial workshops and classes being held until Spring this year have completed.  By then we will have a humble but gr...

Making Soul Art as affordable as possible

Posted by Michelle Jacobs on Saturday, July 10, 2010, In : Affordability and Art
In case you saw our workshops and classes, loved it, but are on a tight budget...you're not alone! Based on similiar feedback we have extended the way we work and what we offer to make it more affordable for all. We will continue to do so in the hopes that everyone who wants to enjoy their creativity can afford to do so. Here are some of the ways we are trying to make it achievable for everyone to get some much needed Soul Time with their favourite art forms...

Taster sessions and "mini-works...
